Apollonia Kotero

Patricia Apollonia Kotero was an American singer and model from the United States. She is also co-starring with Prince in his 1984 film, Purple Rain. She is known for co-starring in the film of Prince's Purple Rain and for having been the main singer for the group of girls Apollonia 6. In the 1980s, the actress-singer Prince christened Apollonia to be one of the many female performers who gained from working with Prince. Patricia Kotero began her acting and modeling career in Santa Monica California, in the latter part of the 1970s. The first time she appeared was on CHiPS. The female lead of Prince's Purple Rain was her first performance in 1984. Prince changed the girl's name during this time. She replaced Vanity with the female trio Vanity 6 who performed in the film with Apollonia 6 replacing Vanity. Sex Shooter, a minor hit song from the soundtrack was her most chart-topping hit. Kotero was able to break up with Prince when they fell out about the fate of Apollonia 6. Kotero then appeared in a couple of films that were minor in the late 1980s (reportedly declining the opportunity to appear in the sequel to Purple Rain Under the Cherry Moon) and then settled on acting in a role at night for the dramatic Falcon Crest in 1985-1986. Apollonia's debut album was released in 1988. But the R&B/dance tracks weren't well-received by the public who purchased music. The album soon vanished. The actress continued acting (if somewhat obscure) throughout the following decade. Small TV appearances small films as well as exercise videos kept her full of work. Apollonia released a bilingual album in Spanish and English entitled Stay with me in 1997. When she returned to school, she received an associate's degree in filmmaking and created her own business. She has also appeared as a model in music videos of artists such as Ray Parker Jr. Kotero is a businessman in addition to being the founder of Kotero Entertainment a multimedia entertainment company.
