Linda Edna Cardellini is the daughter of Lorraine (Hernan), a mother, as well as Wayne David Cardellini (a father) and a businessman. She was trained in acting in the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London and began her career with the British TV show Just William (2010). In the following years, she starred as Lady Rose MacClare in the period drama series Downton Abbey (2012-2015), her breakthrough was the title role in the film of fantasy Cinderella (2015). James later played the the Countess Natasha Rostova on the TV version of War & Peace in 2016. James has appeared in numerous films such as Baby Driver (2017) and period dramas Darkest Hour (2017) and The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society 2018 and The Dig 2021, as in the musicals Mamma Mia! We Go Again (2018) and Yesterday 2019 We Go again (2018) and Yesterday 2019, Then, in 2022 her character in the role of Pamela Anderson was recognized with an Golden Globe nomination and a Primetime Emmy Award.
